The organisation

About

An international charity. Education, social programs, and community work are one effort, read in three parts.

The three are listed apart so each can be seen clearly. They belong together so a classroom is not asked to stand in for a meal, and a meal is not asked to stand in for a community.

International describes the reach of the organisation. It does not mean one story repeated in every place. The work changes with the place it is in: who teaches, what people need next week, and who holds the keys.

Aleria begins when someone already there asks for a continuity they cannot hold alone. A teacher paid on a known day. A table on a known afternoon. A hall that more than one kind of life is allowed to use.

We stay close to the calendar. Appeals that cannot name their weekday, their host, and their end do not belong on this site. Some programs are ongoing. Some are still being prepared. Some are finished, and stay listed so the ending can be read.

What stays the same is the standard. Learning is given time. Care is arranged so it can be found again. Community is the upkeep that lets both continue. Money is explained in the same language as the education and programs it serves.

Method

How the work is held

01

Listen for the weekday

A need that cannot name its day, its host, and its place is not ready to be a program.

02

One hall, more than one use

Classrooms, meals, and meetings should be able to share a door without one of them becoming a guest.

03

Money that can be explained

A gift should be attachable to a wage, a repair, or a season. If we cannot say which, we do not ask yet.

04

Leave the keys nearby

The people who live nearest the door decide the next week. The charity does not become the landlord.
